HOW TO GET TO WAIHEKE ISLAND, AUCKLAND
HOW TO GET TO WAIHEKE ISLAND, AUCKLAND
FLIGHTS

Fly into AKL | Auckland International Airport

If traveling internationally please plan to arrive in Auckland by Sunday, February 15th 2026. Please note that if traveling from the USA you will arrive TWO days after your departure date due to the time change, so plan accordingly.

Air New Zealand is a GREAT airline option, if at all possible. They often feature sales/deals as well as offer bidding opportunities for upgrades, which are quite often successful if you make them a reasonable offer

VISA REQUIREMENTS

USA and EAU | New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA)

NZeTA

An NZeTA is required for most travelers to visit New Zealand, including the USA.

Applying for an NZeTA:

You can apply for an NZeTA before you travel. It can take up to 72 hours to process an NZeTA. This is an easy process and you can do it online in under 15 minutes.

Si viajas desde un país que requiere requisitos adicionales de visa, Amy se comunicará contigo directamente para coordinar con un especialista en visas. Muchas gracias!

DINING SPOTS

OUR FAVS

Casita Miro  (Spain meets New Zealand)

A Spanish-inspired tapas restaurant nestled among olive trees, offering a taste of the Mediterranean with dishes like goat cheese croquettes and paella.

Island Grocer  (Bill's favorite sandwich spot!)

More of a gourmet deli than a restaurant, but they have fantastic fresh sandwiches, cheeses, and local specialties if you want to grab a picnic.

Three Seven Two

A beautiful modern eatery right on Onetangi Beach, offering creative seasonal dishes, fresh seafood, and a strong focus on sustainability.

Te Motu

Te Motu Vineyard is a family-run winery in Onetangi Valley, renowned for its aged Bordeaux-style wines and rustic yet refined farm-to-table dining experience.

Too Fat Buns (best burger in town!)

Located in the heart of Oneroa Village, Too Fat Buns is Waiheke Island's award-winning gourmet burger bar, known for its tasty and homely burgers.

Waiheke Distilling Co. (incredible views make it worth the drive!)

Located on the eastern side of the island, Waiheke Distilling Co. offers premium botanical gins with a stunning view of the Hauraki Gulf. Enjoy a guided tasting, cocktails, and delicious platters in their stylish garden setting.

THINGS TO DO

WINE. BEACH. EAT. REPEAT.

Best Beaches
